Circle 8 Speedway

Circle 8 Speedway opened in  1967 as a 1/4 mile dirt track named Stampede Speedway. It was closed and paved in 1970 and re-opened in 1971 as Circle 8 Speedway, a paved 1/4 mile oval. The track lasted until 1980 when the land became more valuable than a racing facility. Some of the original banking can be seen but most of the track and all the facilities were razed when the land was turned into a driving range around 1990. Racing moved to the ‘new’ Stampede Speedway located on 50ave SE just east of 52st SE.
